Ce concert exceptionnel est présenté pour la première fois Outre-Atlantique sur initiative de la SAT, AEG et dans le cadre du Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. Il ressuscitera les notes jazzy et gothiques d’une bande originale restée dans les mémoires pour sa partition lascive, autant empruntée à la wave synthétique des années 1980 qu’à l’univers glauque du polar.

Un concert hommage à David Lynch bien sûr mais aussi Angelo Badalamenti, compositeur attitré et grand complice du réalisateur, qui a donné naissance au célèbre thème, macabre et obsédant de Twin Peaks, et à cette bande originale, entre jazz d’ascenseur en panne, dream pop lacrymale, new age gothique et easy listening. Il a surtout permis à ce projet de voir le jour en proposant Jean-Philippe Audin à la direction musicale pour constituer son octet il y a 18 ans.
Ce concert a été présenté au Festival de Cannes en 2009, à Ars Cameralis Festival sur invitation de David Lynch, ainsi qu’au Divan du Monde en présence du réalisateur… sur scène !

This exceptional concert is being presented for the first time across the Atlantic on the initiative of the SAT, AEG, and as part of the Montreal International Jazz Festival. It will revive the jazzy and gothic notes of a soundtrack remembered for its sultry score, drawing as much from the synthetic wave of the 1980s as from the murky universe of the crime genre.
A tribute concert to David Lynch, of course, but also to Angelo Badalamenti, the composer and great accomplice of the director, who created the famous, macabre, and haunting theme of Twin Peaks, and this soundtrack, blending broken elevator jazz, tearful dream pop, gothic new age, and easy listening. Most importantly, he made it possible for this project to come to fruition by proposing Jean-Philippe Audin as the musical director to form his octet 18 years ago.
This concert was presented at the Cannes Festival in 2009, at the Ars Cameralis Festival at the invitation of David Lynch, and at the Divan du Monde in the presence of the director... on stage!
